plug gap for 2.2?

I've recently replaced the plugs in my car, Haynes states to set the plug gap to 24 thou, but I've since been told it shoud be closer to 18 thou.
Anyone have a definative anwer? (I dont have the sticker on the fan hhousing clamp any more)

Plug gap should be 0.6mm which is approx 24 thou.

AKA "Rule of Thumb"
