Some more progress while waiting for Angus to get back onto my shell:

Firstly the custom wiring loom is being made up by Kroon including:

- ‘72 S coupe wire harness
- wire harness for front heated windscreen (Porsche option code M443
"Frontscheibe beheitzt" part.no 911.612.057.00)
- Twinspark modification tunnel harness
- Twinspark harness 3 pole CDI
- Twin fuel pump harness
- Race number plate lighting harness
- Interior lights harness delete
- CDI harness 3 pole delete
- Fuel pump harness delete

Now being delivered to misteralz in the Netherlands and then to me at CLM next week - save on customs duties!

Second, the lightweight door cards are coming together:

I was offered these NOS Fiat 500 door handles by Cees on ESR which I’m delighted with:

Then I found these repro 3mm thick hardboard door cards cut to exact factory dimensions on eBay. These are not oil tempered however and will need to be painted with 3 coats of exterior woodwork paint according to the seller so I got onto this:

I then spoke to David Nunn at Southbound and he gave me the dimensions of the leather pull straps (length: 575mm, width: 16mm, thickness: 4mm, hole diameter at 10mm from one end: 5.5mm) to give to my local leatherworker to make up. These are black on the front with natural leather on back and sides.

David also said he can supply the correct code 702 smooth black vinyl and the plastic membranes along with all the factory fixings (7 per side).

So just two window winder handles to go and then that bit’s done!

Going to look great,
David really knows his stuff I've got one of his carpet sets ready to fit. Love that you've got the details of the pull straps , I used a pair of dog leads from ebay but might have to revisit at some point.

Fixings and parts all sourced…

Traction noose” being the leather pull strap!

Working out what the abbreviations meant and what screws and washers go where and what quantities I need (note ‘X’ in the quantity column) was a bit of a challenge but I think I’ve worked it out by counting and measuring the diameter of the small holes in the door cards.

Batteries bought to get us home from CLM with a faulty alternator will be perfect for GeLo…
