Jame & I thought it would be a good idea to walk up the mountain for a bit. It started at 1100m and the air was a bit thin. One of the ‘death walks’ for the week - hotel below looked pretty cool

Some other views from the first of several walks Rich encouraged us to take
First off, we needed to get to the top of the hill

Once their, the views were pretty good

Great to read.
Green as Gary's 911 with envy!
I bled my brakes today by comparison.

DAY4
Today was always planned as a shorter day, but with a great route …. With this in mind we we had a bit of time to spare and a trip on the cable car from the hotel up the mountain was always planned . Mark posted pics of the cable cars earlier, it was a steep run but impressive views from the top. Bit of exercise never hurts on these trips as the rest of the time we’re sat down driving, or sat down eating and drinking

As time was getting on we had to drag Richard back down so we could at least get the drive start just after lunch.
Today’s drive was the well worn Potes loop which is very popular with bikers. I had low expectations but the road out of Potes was fantastic, technical yet fast , a mixture of hill climbs and cavern runs, only problem being we were quicker than most of the ( mainly British)
bikers.
( an amazing climb to this spot )

Waiting for more cows

Luckily we had a good clear run for the first 1 hour then stuck behind a bit of slower traffic we couldn’t pass we found a nice little cafe for coffee and some tapas.

Onwards and heading north the road stayed fantastic and the traffic friendly, even when we caught up with 2 camper vans racing each other they pulled over and let us all past .

The rest of the loop was great apart from a few very badly ridden bikers slowing us down and then some fairly large road works for a few miles at the end of the route . Time to fill up the cars again and he’d back up to the same hotel for the night for another good meal and plenty of drinks

To add… my new exhaust on the 964 is a bit louder than before, but does sound good within the rock walls and tunnels

‘A bit louder’
Well. That’s one way of putting it
Cable car regret was starting to kick in about now…

Nice little mesh box for those of strong stomach:

And the hotel (and some cars) from my solo ride back down due to lack of air!

Cool stop for just the one pic before we shot back out again to avoid behind passed by all the cars we’d just overtaken!

Lots of this:

Another awesome day

Thank you for posting. The 24-36 ferry ride has put me off going to Bilbao but maybe worth it for the stunning roads you get immediately
