Drive it there, Do It, Drive it back.
The best way to go hillclimbing.
I did 14 years of that in my 911, came home on a trailer just twice (crash and broken clutch)
4 years the same in my hot Impreza came home once on a trailer (shattered rear plated diff)
Hillclimbing is best when it is simple.
Clean forgot VSCC were at Loton, sorry to have missed it.

We weren't there on Saturday, but Sunday was pretty quiet, in many ways nice. Damp track made for some tricky runs, but still good day out. Ed Burgess' double fed in the Bugatti T51, well worth watching....

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Loton is a superb hill, in a wonderful setting...unfortunately last year the VSCC youngsters were on the receiving end of some unnecessarily aggressive 'marshalling' by a HDCC thug for contravening a rule that was poorly communicated before the event, and as a result their support of the event is very much weakened. We noted that this chap was now chief Marshall this weekend, an inappropriate promotion in many people's view....W

Hope everyone made good use of the lovely weather over the weekend. Doubt we can squeeze that many more days out of it….. unless you live In Cornwall.

Winston, really sad to read this. I have been involved with Loton at various levels for 29 years and am now an Honorary President.
I think I know who you refer to...
I strongly believe in 'Race with Respect' where things are sorted in a good respectful conversation should a problem arrive.
Graham.

We are all in complete agreement here, they'll be back, and attitudes will soften. As the 'on the day' teams are never the same, everything will be fine in the end. The good will outweigh the past negatives....

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
If that's the one I saw at Curborough a couple of weeks back, I commented to the owner what a lovely car, to which he replied "yes it is" with an air of superiority and turned away.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
I never know what to say when people say ‘nice car’ to me, as happens quite often with the Testarossa. ‘Thanks’ seems dishonest, I didn’t design it or build it, I just did a bank transfer to a man from Guildford, so I can’t take really take any of the thanks for it being a nice car.
I’m never rude to the commenter though. Unless you count looking them in the eye and gently cupping their balls as being rude.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
To be fair, when people approach me sometimes with my cars it is difficult to know what to say when someone says .’nice car’ … sometimes the only thing that comes out of you mouth is ‘ thanks, yes it is , I’ve had it a while ‘ which probably sounds a bit twatty . Can be worse though, I’ve unintentionally probably come across as a knob before before when someone was chatting to me about my spyder and I said its nice but I prefer the drive of my other Porsche. See what kind of knob would say that to a stranger without sounding like an asshole
