Re: A question about lights on a 73T...
Good info from you all.
I will copy Gary, he is usually well thought out, and mix is proven.
Ordering this afternoon.
Earlier in the year I bought a stock 5 speed shift tower that has transformed the drivability of my 911, and I feel this will encourage me to use it more next year.
Cripes, I'll have electric steering and servo brakes next....
Clive: maybe I didn't see your 914, the orange one at Greatworths was a 6 but my glasses were rain soaked.

An early mod to improve the headlights AND reduce the load passing through the ignition switch was to introduce a couple of relays. Power to the lights was direct from the battery or alternator and the relays were energised via the existing headlight wiring, thus reducing the load on the ignition switch.
In my experience this mod was a goodly improvement for the headlights. Not as good as LED's but a fraction of the cost!

My LED light kit arrived a few days ago.
Exactly to Gary's spec, just under £100 and delivered in a definitely 'non-COP' compliant packaging. Packing is too good to re-cycle.
Everything dropped in place, and it allowed me to super glue the new seals to the headlamps that split apart 2 days after fitting them 3 years ago.
I think the lights need aligning but will check against my Skoda's lights later or even get them set properly.
Oh, and they are BRIGHT even in daylight, rears are too, so a great result, thank you Gary.
Time to put the car asleep now for the winter unless things look good to use it for the Bicester Raid this January, but I expect there to be salt around.

Re: A question about lights on a 73T...
After some quite extensive sodding around with all sorts of bulbs (anyone want some NOS 5w H5s ) I went the LED route
The H5 to H4 adapters for the bowls came from
https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/collections
The LED bulbs I got are an exact fit, shape, dimensions for H4s and came from Amazon
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07S178H9Q? ... b_ap_share
Hope that helps
