Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
We did a chunk of the west side of the N500 and it really was cramped with campers this time last year, ruined a lot of the pleasure of cruising at reasonable speeds and actually being able to see the road ahead and the senary, partly why we are off to France instead!

Yes, yet another ‘victim of its own success’, the promotion of the route has been relentless over the last few years. We got the best of the scenery and quiet roads on the two DDK Highland Tours in 2007 and 2014 before it became ‘fashionable’.
As an aside there are plenty of scenic quieter roads away from the NW500 in Scotland I’m sure would be just as nice for a tour.
Regards
Mike

Last Saturday… stopped over in the lakes, had a nice early run with a mate in his 996 along Ullswater and up over Kirkstone pass heading to the Lakeland motor museum for the Mark Dempster memorial rally where we met up with JohnM and his wife .

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Hi James,
we won't have time to get down to Baden Baden unfortunately. We are doing Rotterdam to Stuttgart in a day, then on the way back going to Speyer to the Technick Museum before heading back to Rotterdam over a day and a half. The rough plan at the moment is to go via Koblenz area almost following the Rhine. But any ideas are more than welcome.
As an aside I forgot to update my CLM engine issues. 2 basically. First and the noise was a collapsed clutch input shaft bearing. The second which I didn't even know about was a snapped valve spring. Luckily the spring collapsed around itself so there was no damage.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Fixed the broken heater flap that was stopping heat getting to the passenger footwell.
Cables off, hoses off and remove the clips that ping off at any opportunity.
4 little split rings off and the box splits in two to reveal the broken flap that I assume got stuck either open or closed and broke at the spindle.
I've glued the flap for the time being and now all back together and working.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
I did buy a new one but once I had it all apart there was enough material for a good glued join so the new one is in the spares box for now.

That's what I like to see - preserve the original bits!
1970 911T, Signal orange (Restoration thread)
1988 3.2 Carrera backdate, Black
2001 996 Turbo, Lapis blue (am I allowed to put that here?)
I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

On a tour in the Boxster, in Baden-Baden for 2 days then more.
Nearly got to the 6 hours, but lost the fight to B-B, but lovely place.
