Wanted: MFI Heat exchanger(s)

Post by silverone »

I am looking for a MFI heat exchanger (L/H side), or, a pair of them, in stainless steel.

I currently have SSIs fitted (the carb version) so happy to swap or part exchange these individually or as a pair for the MFI version, as required.

Thanks for your help.

I've a hunch my unfitted SSI heat exchangers are MFI (my car is Weber), but are for a 2.2 and wouldn't fit unless I'm mistaken.

They should fit from the 2.0 up to the 2.7 I believe. Do you have a photo of them at all? That would be most helpful.

.
Mfi heat exchangers should fit all '69-'73 models.

There can be clearance problems with the right side h/ex - more so with the Dansk version of the SSI - due to the flange fouling the valve cover.

- there are various 'remedies' for solving this ...

Ok, thanks for the info!

Consensus seems to be that even though Dansk now have taken over and make the SSIs, they are still better quality I hear... Still the same clearance issues these days do we know?

Robfrost; Can I ask what condition are your SSIs in and are you interested in exchanging for my SSI carb version?

Thanks for your help gents.

Thank you for this, however they are the carb version, not the MFI which I need...

This is the MFI version (with the additional MFI take-off circled in green for reference).

you dont 'need' that bit for mfi .. just the pipe for the thermostat heat hose to connect too

Yes that's true, as the MFI pump only needs the >80°c input into it's thermostat,. However just that I would like to have the whole set-up as original as possible.
