I was curious what this basket case LHD 2.4T would fetch. Needs reshelling and engine doesn't run, may not even turn over. £22k in the end. Thoughts?

Was poorly described, I thought. Also I don't see many wanting that colour. (I have no problem with it but it wouldn't be my choice for a £100k car).

Likely the cheapest Right Hand Drive 1973E you'll see for a very long time - looks to have MFI intact.

Mis-listed as a T and forward-dated to impact bumpers but I can confirm I've seen a photo of the VIN, it's correct. Sportomatic Targa won't be everyone's preference. I also have a few photos of the front boot and the typical patch-weld repairs are present.

Considering somebody just paid the same money for a complete basket case T, looks good value to me.

We'll see. It's a little-known liquidator with very little advertising, not Silverstone Auctions. And mis-listed as a T. And with the confusion around it having impact bumpers. A lot of fixable problems that will put people off.

Any sensible prospective buyer would soon/easily establish that it's a '73 911E (just looking at the rev counter, engine shroud, etc gives a clue) - apart from the VIN - & thus realise that it's been 'forward dated' as was often the case ...

Looks like originally tangerine with a brown interior. A 1973 rhd 2.4E sporto in that colour combo is a rare car. Only 50 built in total. Recaro sports seats too although recovered look decent.
Trying to get a replacement interior would be nigh on impossible.

I doubt it. The lower dash wouldn’t (imho) be changed to brown if the rest of the entire interior were the original black materials. The recovered recaro’ s look like they are a nod to the original interior too otherwise they would likely have been done black to match the rest. Original brown pre 74 interiors (vinyls and carpet) are impossible to find so when they wear out (which the lower dash tends not to) it’s easier to find black. Just my thoughts.

Edit ; I changed a bit of my reply but I still think it’s likely an original brown interior.

The sellers got good feedback. I just hope the buyers are real. I tried to sell a car on eBay once many years ago and the price went high and the buyer was a fake. I don’t understand what they get out of it ?
