The interior has turned out really well, I was fortunate that the original dash was in remarkable condition and other than a clean went straight back in the car. I also was fortunate to acquire an original steering wheel Hockley puck and gear knob which have aged really well....

Re: Silver hotrod
Interior and seats looking superb Mark, such a perfectly executed sports purpose build
I guess I'd better drop off all those parts I've been storing for Gary!
Cheers,

Fantastic build Mark.
That 330 seat looks like a child seat, I hope your passengers are very skinny. I think I would be sitting on the seat rather than in it !

A few additional pictures of the interior. Roll bar fitted and 3 point harnesses in place. Very pleased with the light weight carpet finish throught the interior, Gary has done a cracking job. We even had some light weight carpet left over to trim the drivers sun visor. Saving on weight so no passenger visor will be fitted.....
Engine lid release on the drivers b-pillar blanked off as in period 68 R and T/R models.

Engine lid will be kept extremely simple, grill has been been fabricated by Gary, simple but very period for a sport purpose late 60s 911.

Looking great Mark. Any full car pics, keen to see the colour on the whole car.
The force is strong in this one ......
Re: Silver hotrod
Unfortunately not, I took loads of the interior and a few of the engine and luggage bay.....I may need to take another trip once the engine work starts..yoda wrote:Looking great Mark. Any full car pics, keen to see the colour on the whole car.

Re: Silver hotrod
Good news on the Engine front, the work on the case is underway.
In early 911 engines the layshaft runs in the case, this wasnt a problem on early alluminium cases. Early magnesium cases however would wear, i believe it wasnt until around 1970 that porsche introduced a full bearing shell on mag cases.
So my case had the normal signs of wear so needed to be bored out to allow a bearing shell to be fitted. From speaking to Gary there were obvious risks in completing this work on the case. So In Steps Nick F, he fabricated the necessary tooling and even trialled it on another mag case before attempting my case. Glad to say the work was completed successfully. Not sure how many people are out there who can do this type of work to the desired standard. Top job Nick.....
