I don’t have a dehumidifier garage, don’t give a crap if it rains. Have been known to use it year round on dirt roads ,in salt, snow and ice.

You can see how well that played out

The only problem that I see with Gary's garage remodelling, is the lack of a top bunk above those new cupboards. I would have thought that that would be a good vantage point for staring at the car once its back in there

The vibrations from the big compressor in the bottom cupboard might also make the top bunk less relaxing!

One luxury is amp and speakers going in the cupboard above the bench. I’ve got some cloth to make grills to cover the holes and stop the dust getting in.

Surprisingly crusty, an area I wouldn't touch myself either and so grateful we've got skilled people like Barry to lean on for these repairs. Mine's being used year around but have a feeling that either Barry's stopped working his magic on these shells or old cars are banned next time around mine needs doing

I've used a dehumidifier in my garage for the past 10+ years ...

as have I , it runs all the time in a timber garage that isn't even sealed ... but it does work well, never any discolouration of brake discs & all the paper documents & files that are also stored in there stay dry & crisp.

.. this was after a less than happy experience of using a carcoon

What will you do when it's back?
Think you said in the past to etch prime the shell presumably asap with the damp.
When I had bare metal around on my re-spray, the surface rust appeared v quickly though easy to remove, same time of year too.

Maybe you will deliver straight to the painter!

It’s not developed any significant flash rust in the two years it’s been sat in bare metal so I’m not worried. Hopefully it will be with me for about 2 months for the underside/inside painting then off for it’s outside.

My garage is integral with a room above and a boiler in there so is never cold and damp.

I have the house boiler in my garage, it is almost 40 years old so not efficient, guess that keeps things warm!

Best I fix the body trolley, finish that garage clearance, oh and move house tomorrow.
