Love my TT S-Line Tdi Quattro - great build quality and looks. As much fun to drive as the 981 Cayman I had, for a quarter of the expenditure.

Mentioned a late Golf GTi to the Boss this morning, No. "No point in having another saloon car"

Re: Some semi-idle thinking: Toyota GT86
Just noticed the article on PH about the ending of the current GT86 and BRZ. Although apparently there is a new turbocharged one coming.
Another idea, what about a nat asp Evora?

Re: Some semi-idle thinking: Toyota GT86
I think the Lotus' are hard to get in/out of (gracefully) so will not do for Mrs 911.
A Vette sounds great, so does a V8 modern Mustang.
Oddly, went for a good run in the 987.2 into Shropshire this morning and parked at a Farm Store, and came back to find an AUDI TT in white next to it.
Have to say my heart skipped harder when looking at the Boxster....
Seems I just might have fixed the front cooling leaks before all the pipes had to be done, an £800+ job, so the Boxa is in 'reprieve' for a while.
Car has not White-Smoked on cold start in 9 times now.
Big Scottish Tour now all booked, decision after.

I know mine is a little more hardcore, but I do think the 987.2 boxster is a great platform for a car to have fun with yet still be a brilliant tourer. Modern BMW's ( which I also have ) and audis etc we have to accept are pretty dull to drive as are a lot of modern cars. A lot of the time the grass isnt greener on the other side and that ultimate grail unfortunately doent exist in modern vehicles ....

Given any thought to the Alpine A110? I am on the stand at the London Concours show at the Honourable Royal Artillery grounds Wednesday and Thursday, it would be nice to meet any DDKers attending, come say hello!

Didn't know you'd hopped into Spyder James, what do you think? Always liked them...... is the roof a faff if caught in a shower, I had an elise S1 wayback and if caught in a shower you'd be drowned by the time you had the roof on.

Re: Some semi-idle thinking: Toyota GT86
The next car needs to have all the attributes of the Boxster, and there are many.
On the long list is the ability to swallow luggage for 2/3 week jaunts abroad and anywhere.
The 110 hasn't a chance.
The TT is right there
James is right, the grass is simply different on the other side of the Porsche Boxster Fence, at least the TT's engine is not flat nor is a V6/V8
The flat 6 is a worry to me based only on my 987.2
A Cayman is all identical, the 997 is the same etc
The Merc SLK V6? Small boot space.
Boxsters are popular for many reasons, hard to fault, but my 4.5 years with mine have been a roller-coaster, but mainly really good until recently.

Nice that James, enjoyed the read on it.
Yep the roof reminds me of the Elise roof.
Look foward to seeing it.
