According to a friend's family folklore, in the 1930's, his grandfather drilled his motor bike quite extensively and took part in the Manx TT. Going over the Ballauch Bridge, the bounce (not sure they 'got air' in those days?) caused his drilled handlebars to snap off to great comedy effect following the well established formula that Tragedy + Time = Comedy. I am sure his grandfather didnt think it was funny as average speeds back then were still 85-90 (compared with 130 of today). 85mph is plenty fast with no handlebars!
I presume Ritchie has not drilled anything important!!
