Driving from Calais, thats a lot of road to get through before you get to your driving holiday.

Thanks all for the ideas and feedback, very helpful.

That does look like a cool route, doesn't it, Best thing is we would have to drive back along it to get the ferry!! Any idea how long that would take (each way)?

The roads are good, but in winter with storm there may be some cuts, especially in the area of ​​Vielha.

Natural parks, great landscapes and roads with many curves.

And what about food, the best in Europe...

That looks a spectacular route. I did Cadaqués-Puigcerdá and over into France to Toulouse last summer. Really impressive roads and fab views.

Agree, lovely route, but getting there and back would be hard work, but French driving is great (imho).
We always run out from Calais, and find 450 miles/day of motorway bashing to cross country about the max even in the Boxster.

So, scoot down, across the country and slow France run back.

Ferry down to Bilbao/Santander and then bimble back over the Millau

That’s the route we are doing down to Barcelona then ferry to Palma Mallorca - five days doing Palma, Lluc circuit and Tramntana ( google Sa colobra and Formentor roads) - ferry back to Barcelona straight up to Bilbao and then Santander

Go early to miss the cyclists especially the lighthouse end ( I’ve cycled that bit myself and it’s a great bit road)

We plan to do both Sa Colobra and Formentor at dawn to avoid the cyclisti and then spend the rest of the day hanging out by the pool etc. I am in Palma right now doing some recce 8)
