My tweeked hill climb 2 litre turbo Impreza engine ran 360 bhp and 7800.
Utterly fabulous engine and the gearbox was just as good.
The soundtrack was great too.

It is all 'Beauty in the eyes of the Beholder', and we are lucky to have the choice. :)

Off to Port Merrion tomorrow and can't wait.
In the Boxster darting between speed limits!

I'm not sure the sum value of my Porsche's would buy the 997, but at least the depreciation is slower than the 997 and certainly the 992's.

I considered a 911 at the time but I’d have had to spend at least £40K more for a fraction of a second faster to sixty time, an almost doubling of fuel consumption, higher insurance and running costs and a car that doesn’t handle quite as well and is bigger.

I believe 80% of Porsche’s sales are Macans and Cayennes, that they sold about 7000 718s and 8,500 odd 911s. Sales of sports cars have been falling apparently.

Late to this thread...but.....”the 718 Boxster is the best looker Porsche have produced”....?

That’s must be the most mis thought quote in the history of mankind....

And if you believe it...you’re in and on the wrong forum.....

There was a well known test run by a large group of car enthusiasts. They all lined up and approached two cars. One was a 911 and one was a 4pot Boxster. Each was told they could only choose one car to keep as their own. One by one they approached the cars and one by one they all chose the 911. But my god the 718 owner protested till he was blue in the face that they were all wrong!

True story.

Or maybe just a little joke? ;)

The latter I think!

If true, it would be interesting to try the same with the public going and fringe in a Tesco supermarket.
Mind you, few would be a buyer for either car.
You will never win this on DDK Ashley... :)

Anyway, Wales today in my Boxster. :drunken:

You have to admit that it’s a bit special and that four cylinders work well in my 346C or a 900bhp Subaru I saw on YouTube.

I understand that this is an old 911 forum and that they are very nice looking too, but modern cars are mostly utterly hideous where the 718 is both modern and really beautiful. People actually come up to you in car parks etc and say how good looking it is, which happens endlessly with the Healey, but otherwise rarely.

No probs, will do. I queried this before because most forums seem to control size and I was advised to use Tap Talk, which didn’t appeal.

Mmm.

Not sure what the problem is Ashley it is a very modern, light, easy to use, go anywhere, economical, four cylinder turbo app.

The Macao is probably Porsche’s best seller despite the VW engine. The two SUVs account for about 80% of their business, but I believe their Sports car sales are declining.

We’re all doooooomed....

And no way that popularity confers cool. However, if it funds cool stuff, I’m good with that. For me though, it’s important to separate best selling from interesting. Can be the same thing, but not often.
