Since we're on a roll, I'll reposting my pic of (IMO) the ultimate Lancia/Zagato exercise... Not cheap though, if you can find one!

Thanks Bootsy, I hadn't seen this but have since read his obituary. 200 million manuals sold! I learned from the obit that the first one he wrote was for the Spridget...coincidentally my first car, and my first Haynes manual. Bought a number of others over the years, but admit I shyed away from Haynes' 911 version. I'd like to see some of his company's newer stuff, "manuals" for Supermarine Spitfire, Bugatti T35 etc. They look fun.

Main takeaway for me was that his type of teaching/reference guide (manual), with photos and factory parts diagrams inserted to explain the process, was new at the time. Now we can look things up on forums and YouTube videos. He was there first....a great Briton.

This man championed the DIY approach to car repairs for millions, the manual was the best tool if you were about to get stuck in.
I've had several if my particular car was published, inc the 911 manual which I still have and refer to for 30 years.

The Haynes marketing Dept today must be one of the most fertile in the UK with many new subject matters.
Saw one today, ' understanding the sister' and many others besides.
The aircraft ones are fabulous and the Bugatti Type 35 is no different.

A great man, a great venture and a wonderful car museum.
What a worthwhile legacy.

RIP.

One of the advantages of open-face helmets compared to the Star Wars creations of today.
