Carcoons and stick on letters

Does anyone have a Carcoon, are they worth it, is it worth putting a dehumidifier in them... I ask because my garage is v old and full of holes, so I would not be able to seal it and just use the dehumidifier. I have a new "breathable" car cover that is pretty rubbish really, traps moisture underneath.. Grateful for any view good or bad

And the 2.2T I have bought has the black Porsche lettering along the sides. Now I know it may be Porsche herecy but I think they look a bit naf so I want rid of them. Before I strip off a layer of paint does anyone have experience of removing them, what solvents to use ?? suspect it is easy but thought I would check....

Hi Jonny

A garage with holes in it, as long as it doesn't let the rain in, is better than a totally sealed garage as the flow of air helps dry things out. Obviously doesn't work with a dehumidifier though

Use a hot air gun (or a hair dryer) to carefully peel off the stickers

if you use a Carcoon you do away for the need for a dehumidifier as the air is continuously circulated anyway - thus preventing condensation...

I use a Carcoon and would recommend it

. It can dry the car too after a wash

They are not good though if you use your car everyday as it is a bit of a 'mare' to keep taking the car out / putting it back in

Opinions vary on whether to go the permabag or carcoon route. Practical Classics tested a selection of storage devices and Permabag came out tops. It is also a tad cheaper. Trouble with Carcoon is the thing blows up like a big baloon so takes up a lot of space. However either route will be good for your Porker.

As an alternative to a Carcoon etc. I use a Garage-Dri - they work by positively presurising the garage with warm air - doesn't matter if there are holes in the garage as it pushes the air through them

Dead easy to install and costs peanuts to run - and you haven't got to unzip the car each time you want to take it out.

hand your car coon up with the tabs it much more easy to get the car in and out then..

I keep mine in a barn which is open on one side, its out of the weather, and under a weathershield cover.

Is this OK? or am I neglecting?!
