plastic wiring tab protectors

Post by Dougieboy1 »

anyone got any spare black plastic sleeves that fit over the tabs that you bend over the wiring loom? Even incomplete ones are useful!

Many were missing off my car. Probably need a dozen or so.....when you start fitting the loom, you realise there are loads of them!!

thanks

One idea that has been suggested is to use the appropriate size of electrical loom casing.
Similarly you could use shrink casing and leave it unheated. Cheap and effective even if it isn't quite thick enough

Hi Andrew,

For the missing ones on my car, I used (non-heatshrink) PVC sleeving. This sort of thing:

It's very easy to reproduce the shape of the originals, by folding the tube and cutting with scissors. Bit like primary school paper chains / snowflakes!

Cheers, Richard.

Porsche supply a length of it as part number 999.613.017.40 but it is just the PVC sleeving already mentioned.
