It was a great meeting, lots of PB's and some very fast runs through the day.

Went to Simply Porsche @Beaulieu in the 993, only a small number of pre 964's, mainly water pumpers. Spoke to Neil Banbridge of BS Motorsport who reminded me of his open day on the 18th August.

Pleasantly surprised to get a Breakfast Club 'Star Car' award from Jonny Smith (ex 5th Gear) at Goodwood on Sunday:

It does look rather nice Martin - well deserved I'd say ... 8)

Well, not entirely Porsche, but the original was Porsche designed...

And no, I couldn't see where I was going while the wheels were up. Just had to hope it came down straight...

to be fair, you look like you wouldnt be able to see where you're going when the wheels are down . Thought about sitting on a cushion ? :bigsmurf:

Fair point - the seat was pretty low, but that's the way they do it in drag cars...

It’s not as if you can steer it with the nose in the air, so seeing out is redundant at that point

Replaced the front speakers in my 964, always thought the tape deck headunit was the reason the sound wasn’t great .... but this is the reason why the sound was poor !!

Image

Turned out to be a bit of a ball ache kind of job as didn’t want to cut the original wiring loom in the door.... so cut the vw style socket off the old speakers and created a new separate ‘loom’ between the new speakers and the original speaker wire connector. Fitted some cheap 2 way Blaupunkt speakers , cut the mounting ring from the old speakers and modded to fit the Blaupunkts which let me use the original speaker covers . All looks stock but now with a great sound .

Took the orange and delivered a set of Deep 6 & 7R's to Biagio Chzanowski for refurb..........I know Biagio has a strong reputation but still nice when you meet a specialist and come away with 100% confidence in their ability 8)

Can't wait.....
