classic car insurance

Post by Drew20 »

who do you guys get your insurance from? I've tried a few people and the best quotes are from Adrian Flux and Lancaster.
Unfortunately Adrian Flux aren't keen to insure me as I'm only 29 and they need me to be 30 so so far I have a choice of Lancaster or Lancaster.

Anyone else I should be ringing?

many thanks

try Aon, Classicline, Carol Nash and the Asset Trust.

All of them advertise in POrsche & 911 World.

I'm with the Asset Trust, they're the only people that would touch a under 30 in london, parking on the road, with no second car

Happy hunting

I'm with Jardine Faber - was 27 when I got my '14.

Tried Aon on a 911s that I was looking to buy but even garaged they wouldn't touch me (no points nor nothing neither!). Best I got was about £800.

£160 with Aon for me - fully comp no mileage limit, although I'm over 30 (needless to say I don't look it!).

I'm with AON as well, £160 with no mileage limit and I can use it to commute. I too am a little over 30  and have access to 2 other cars.

I'm with Aon also as recommended by so many off here, £200 fully comp classic, with no mileage limit, or need for no claims. Kept on drive over, 30 years, fine upstanding citizen and all the usual crap.

As an alternative try BLM in Leeds , 0113 282 5017 ,
they just love insuring older Porsche .

£156 for 5000 miles on my 914 ,as a second car , not garaged ,
but am a bit over 30 .

just for info
Aon 01483 706070 wouldn't insure me cos I'm under 30
Classicline 01455 891330 wouldn't insure me cos it'll be parked on street
Carol Nash 0800 298 5555 £800 (£390 if I had a garage)
Asset Trust 01666 503224 no answer on phone
Jardine Faber 01604 639011 wouldn't insure me cos it'll be parked on street
Chris Knott (equity red star) £4000
Firebond 0870 4440556 £2500
BLM 0113 2825017 wouldn't insure me cos it'll be parked on street
Footman James wouldn't insure me cos it'll be parked on street and cos I'm under 30
Adrian Flux 08700 777888 £400ish
Lancaster 01480 484848 £380

I had a lot of problems here for a lot of reasons
I live in London
I'm under 30
I don't have a garage
No immobiliser
No NCB for this vehicle

but thank God for Lancaster, next year when I am 30 this price should half (which will make it even cheaper to insure than my banger Golf)
very odd

I was with Lancaster when I turned 30, my premium didn't half, did when I changed insurer tho. Did Lancaster say it would half?

they gave me an example quote assuming I was 30 which was £202. Maybe its because the quote is quite expensive anyway??

Hello

Is year 1976 eligible for 'classic' car insurance? Is it also emission-exempt in MOT?

Thanks in advance!

The year of car is, its Drew's age that isn't the driver with most classic policies have to be over 25 or 30 with some.
