Yes me. I sold mine as it was Tiptronic - bought when I had a bad knee. Knee was sorted in 2 weeks by a good osteopath. The Tip would never be sorted, so it went.

Thinking of looking at two cars. The 1st a 1993 c2 and the other a 1996 c4.
Both are manual.

The c2 has done 82,000 Miles with full stamps and serviced in September, no advisories and 11 months mot. Comes with elec seats, mirrors, turbo wheels, rear wiper. Iris Blue. Looks a well looked after. Plenty of work done HPI clear. Price 45k

The c4, done 83,000 Miles, owned for the past 12 years, air conditioning rebuilt and working like it should do. Comes with the factory lower suspension and recent overhaul. Plastic back sport seats, turbo wheels, elec seats, rear wiper, owner moved abroad so for sale. Midnight blue metallic. Little more expensive 50k

Is there much difference or change to the engines or any upgrades from 1993 to 1996?
The c2 says 200 BPH but I’m sure that’s wrong?

Early car has 272hp and the later one 285hp due to the addition of Varioram - variable length intake pipes that give a little more top end without affecting low range torque. In reality you won't notice the difference. Not much else changed. Aircon when working is a definite plus in this era of 911.

In reality you won't notice the difference. Not much else changed. Aircon when working is a definite plus in this era of 911.

Also the earlier cars had the G50/20 gearbox, which had shorter ratios:

The changeover seems to very nearly coincide with the varioram change.

Ok so the c2 I like had the 50/21 gearbox even though it’s not a vario ram and lower bhp?
Maybe worth a look?

Don't get hung up on that kind of detail ...when I looked for 993's and for my current 964, I found the quality of cars to vary massively. I was amazed at the amount of badly re painted 993's out there ( at least 3 I viewed had been painted over the wind / scuttle rubber ! )
U.K. Based 964's , I viewed about 8or 9 ' dealer' cars and only 1 of those cars was of the quality I'd have been happy with ( and that 1 car was twice the price of the others ) . Ultimately I knew I really wanted LHD so sourced from a private seller in Germany

Point being , quality of the car should dictate. If you find a really nice car, don't discount it because it's a slightly later gearbox etc

Saying that, the plastic backed sport seats are more desirable than the 'comforts'

One more point... If you've not driven a RHD 993, make sure you do, as I found on longer trips my knees started to ache due to the offset pedals ( this was exacerbated by the sport seats that hold you pelvis in the straight ahead position )
