Brown headliner needed for '82 SC

Post by GinaPSC »

Hi guys...

Is there anyone in the DDK Collective who can help me, please?

My 911SC is currently undergoing restoration and is in need of a new headliner that seems to be a unicorn colour. Nobody on Earth has any new old stock of this perforated vinyl.

The Porsche code for the h/liner is 911 555 055 15 21S. I need a match to the thickness and colour, so that's 0.7mm thickness, so it 'hangs' correctly, and the colour is a milk chocolate brown, just like a Yorkie Bar, and perforated, see pic below of the last surviving piece, the sunroof panel. I’m not that bothered about matching the spacing of the perforations, just concerned with getting a result near enough to the original Porsche-spec brown interior… unless someone has some 911 555 055 15 21S brown headliner tucked away!

My fallback will be to buy an off-the-shelf 911 headliner and the guys at the paint shop say they can spray dye it. I'd prefer something self-coloured.

Regards
Gina

P.S. Lost the will to live trying to link a Photobucket pic to the site... hopefully there's an expert who knows what it looks like.

Hi Bootsy

Thanks for replying.

I've employed the 'scattergun' approach and contacted as many folk as I can find, and Classic FX is one... I've got Neil Bainbridge scouring his contacts for me, too. I contacted Classic FX through Facebook this morning, so I hope to get a reply during the working week.

Thanks once more!!
