Coffee and Classics in the Cotswolds. Next weekend May 7th

Post by jeremyg »

Anyone fancy a drive out next weekend?

Image

This is a good little regular event near Cirencester that I went to a few weeks ago. It's nice driving country and as the weather forecast seems okay at the moment it could be good to meet up at say 10 am and drive in together?

Nothing like a brace of 356's 912's or early 911's arriving together to delight the crowd!

The event is at The Classic Motor Hub at GL7 5NX at Ablington Gloucestershire. www.classicmotorhub.com

Ashley James and Winston Teague have already expressed an interest - I'll PM you anyway and see if you may be still up for it, and we can plan where to meet up.

So if anyone else would like to join in, post here and we can make arrangements. The food and coffee there is good, and as well as all the visiting cars, there are some collections of interesting classics to look around that permanently kept in the hangars on this old airfield.

Might you be coming up from Cornwall Keith? We could meet up for the drive - or you could stay over if you'd like to. Plenty of space!

I'll need to see how house purchase goes, but I like the idea. I'll be in touch.

Looks like a cracking place to visit. I taxed my SC today and have promised myself I will use it this year and also try and meet up with others so will try and come along.
I'm in the Forest of Dean, not sure if anyone will be traveling from this direction? Will see you all there otherwise.

Hi Jonny. It would be good to meet up. I'll be coming north up the M5 from Bristol. Maybe the north bound Gloucester services could be a first meet up point for those coming from that direction? After that we need a meet up point closer to Ablington for everyone else. (Suggestions anyone?)

Last call for this - it's on tomorrow. Weather - dry and getting warmer.

If you want to meet up beforehand some of us are planning to meet up in the Cirencester Travelodge car park at 9.30am (GL7 5HB). It's a short drive from there to the Classic Motor Hub at GL7 5NX.

Any newcomers welcome. If you want my mobile PM me.

Coffee & Classics is on again tomorrow. I plan to be there in a silver 911T. Was a good excuse to get up early on a Sunday last month. Pleased to briefly chat with Keith last time, and saw the DDK cars but didn't get to chat — it's difficult when you don't recognise people unless they're standing next to their car.

Good point. That's partly why I suggest meeting up beforehand and driving in together. That way you get to meet each other for sure. Sadly I can't go tomorrow - but have a good time. Meeting up in the car park in the nearby Travelodge worked really well if other Ddk's want to make a plan to do so again.

I'll be there in my silver 987, my 356 is having its transmission overhauled, and I'm hoping it won't result in DDKers ostracising me. I'd like to meet a few.
