my milometer doesn't work and i've taken it out of the casing.....the worm gear which protrudes from the main drive housing (where the speedo cable goes into) doesn't seem to engage much with its mating spur gear
it doesn't look like its broken off....does it look right to you?
Also. any ideas where i might obtain chromed inner and outer bezels for my 5 gauges?
i cant tell Jimmy...but i think the ball at the other end of the shaft holding the worm has something to do with it...it was loose when i removed the instrument from the facia....its a bit beyond me, so its going off to John Ostick up in Leeds (JDO Instruments) to sort
just to follow up, it was simply the 8mm ball that had come out and allowed the worm to wander out of engagement with the little spur gear, so no distance gears at all were turning....apparently the ball is a press fit in the recess

I bought some from a guy in Germany/Austria but they were the wrong profile and far too heavy and wouldn't close so ending up using the original ones. I hope I'm not too late in saying take good care of your original ones? I've also tried Palo Alto Speedo but they wouldn't sell me any - if you do find a supplier please let me and know.
