Update on my 356A
I've not posted for a while, but recently I've had some work carried out on my 356A by PR Services - the only people who have ever worked on this car since it came to the UK about 9 yrs ago. I'm the first UK owner, and have only ever used PRS. I sent the car up there for a bit of a general "sorting out", but primarily to have some modest and easily reversed modifications. As usual the work has been fantastic - not only does the car run the best it ever has, it also looks its best too. I'll be back next year for a few more changes and plan to be using this car a lot more in 2017.
This car will need some real attention to the bodywork at some point, so I know it's no show winner - BUT I love driving this car, it's the longest I've kept any car and is hopefully for keeps. And I enjoy every trip in it

Looks lovely Simon !
What modifications did you have carried out - lowered ? wheel spacers added ?
Is there a dedicated thread on your car with other photos (interior, etc) ?

Thanks all - relieved I haven't upset anyone (yet!)
From memory, we went 4.5" all round for the wheels, with a spacer on the rear. The wheels are standard of course, blasted to get the chrome off and then went off for paint. The nuts etc were also treated the same, and while that was going on the drums were vapour blasted to get that lovely finish.
About three (or four?) years ago PRS swapped the suspension to Konis, which made a huge improvement to the the car - it just flows beautifully, so light, feels perfect, and at the same time it was lowered a little; I may go a little lower next year as it suits the car so well.
Paul had some Marchal driving lamps in, so we added those as well. The rails slightly obscure the lamps, but I'm not bothered as I never drive the car at night. I'm toying with the idea of taking the rails off next year anyway (and keeping them of course!) They also changed the headlamps over so we could add grills over the lamps.
Plans for next year include a replacement front boot/ bonnet with a central fuel filler (again, I'll keep my original and hang it in the garage), Speedster seats and if funds allow then a Sebring style exhaust. More importantly I just want to get back in to driving this car a lot more regularly. I'm booked for Goodwood MM in March, most likely WEC Silverstone and either WEC Spa or Le Mans. If Hedingham is on then I'll be there too I hope. I've not really driven the car for about 18 months so it's great to be in it again!

HI Steve - hope you're well! It sold to a guy in Australia and I"m hoping he has it by now. I think he views on here but has not posted. Nice guy and a real Porsche enthusiast. It was a real shame to sell it - I honestly thought I'd keep it for good. Life gets in the way of these plans though sometimes! On the bright side it has given me the time/ funds to focus on the 356A again, and i'm loving it.

Simon,
Car still looks very nice, the rear axle nut has a novel sort of pin going through the nut instead of the normal split pin. Guess you can re-use that time and time again!
Have you removed the front number plate? I changed my original Koni's for new ones a few years ago they do work well Simon don't they.
