I had a similar dilemma to the one you are having but after taking advice, I came to the conclusion not to dip my car as the body was so good. Only if it was potentially a colander is it worth dipping as the process will take away all the seam sealer from places you can and can't see. Good luck with your restoration.

Thanks Chris, interesting point about the seam sealer. My car is good as is ex California, it only needs repair along back edge of the rear boot where they all go plus i want to get rid of the California spec sidelights. I've had a couple of quotes for four grand for the respray including the engine bay, wheel arches, repairs and mod to the sidelights. i am looking for a set of early bumpers and Italian spec lenses at the moment. Did you get your car resprayed?

Does anyone make a RHD fibreglass dash top?

I don’t know anybody that makes a fibreglass one, but have a feeling someone in Australia does/did make a plastic one.
A number of years back they were being sold on Australian eBay.

I few years ago I went to look at a RHD 914 that had been converted and imported from Australia to the UK.
I was very impressed with the one piece dash top, even had the ashtray cut-out in the mirror image style of the original LHD dash top.
Most RHD conversions I have seen here in the UK use the LHD dash top chopped up and re-stitched back together as the converter feel fit to do, when Crayford Enginering did their few 914 conversions in the early '70s they removed the ashtray from the dash top.

Finally 'finished?????' my 914 RHD conversion.....(still a few bits & pieces to tidy up, but on the road and running!!!). Pictures attached (hopefully!!!!)
Been driving it over the last 6 months (weather permitting!) and must say that it drives & handles exceptionally. Hard to believe it's a 40 year old car.
Gearbox takes some getting used to with some embarrassing crunching when trying to engage 1st and select reverse and stopping requires some extra effort (although still bedding in).
Performance from this 1.8L engine is better than I had imagined (glad now that I didn't spend money on too many performance upgrades that could potentially give reliability issues).
Looking forward to joining you all at events next year.

I’m very impressed with the dash top and the mirror image dash layout; a lot of RHD conversions I see I find this part disappointing.

Whilst carrying out some more odd 'finishing off!!!!' jobs on the 914, I have discovered a slight buckle on one of me newly refurbished Riviera rims.

Would anyone know of an original straight Riviera wheel for sale!

Would consider buying a full set.

Can be in any condition but not bent!
