Too true, I couldn't believe they thought they could keep the same format with new faces and expect it to work.

Chris Harris, Rory and Matt LeBlanc come across well, Chris and Eddie pretty poor.

How many more times do we have to see a flash car power sliding around a track in slow mo with it's lights flashing with some water spraying a fancy lens flairs. Though last night's show wasn't too bad.
I agree with Dave

They screwed up in my opinion by showing the first episode first - as it was absolute rubbish. The next 5 were pretty good but they'd lost general credibility by then. Shame as it really worked in parts. Hopefully they have a good idea on who and what works now to take it forward...

Like Brendan, I taped the whole series. I made the mistake of watching the first one and have yet to revisit; currently too much sport on to bother.

Well they've got to change something now, Evans has quit apparently.

They have a perfect opportunity to freshen things up with Le Blanc, Harris and the other guy, not Jordan the dark skinned lad.

Revamp the format, make it look fresh

I'd assume, like the old TG that the final edit and studio filming was done week to week so they took action based on the early feedback and refined the show over the weeks.

Wasn't bad in the end for a reboot but lacked the old clowns & therefore universal appeal. Granny is now watching Pointless on catchup instead.

Yes, Mr. Shouty has left. Looks like Jeremy will now present the show.
Just hope he makes a better job of it than he did leading the labour party.

Rory Reid?
I think he's been pretty good, Harris clearly loves it and I think LeBlanc is a good foil.

Maybe there's no need for anyone to replace Evans. I'm glad he retired but sorry to see him go as he's a true petrol head in real life so I'm told. Le Blanc seems the natural leader or perhaps that's the way the producers have put it together. What really happens on the show and how it's put together is likely up to them.

Personally I thought he was ridiculously overpowering in the first episode and then toned down a fair bit. I enjoyed his MGB article in the final one. And I think him becoming acceptable coincided with him turning off the Clarkson impression.

Whether him going is linked to the alleged fall-out with Matt LeB, or the allegation of sexual assault, or a recognition that once the press have got your teeth into you they won't let go, or it was jump before you're pushed, or a personal recognition that it was a step too far, or any combination of the above I've no idea

How I paint my car(s) is up to me and the same goes for him.

Too right, best most of those Fezzas have gone through different colours when owned by certain Hollywood stars back in the day.

Not sure they will be too keen to change the format unfortunately, Top gear as we all know has its own team of presenters in different countries all around the world all working to the original format, change one you have to change them all and that's risky.

That's nearly 15 years of the same dross. Dunno, they need a section on motorbikes, unknown motorsport events/tracks, heroes and villains of the car industry, great driving roads, record breakers, car clubs, events. Proper magazine stuff but on the screen.
