Help on Fuchs

Hi all, I've purchased a pr of 6" & 7" all 15" .. so buzy studying for cracks etc I didn't even notice one is a deep 6 & the other a flat 6 !! wot an arse .. never mind i'll do a swap on the flat 6.
My main issue is with the 7's .. the only stamp is 7x15 that's it, no part # or date stamp !!
Did at any point they stop ID details .. they certainly look genuine & have some age about them.
The guy I brought them of was as clueless as me .. any thoughts.

The part numbers were sometimes really odd e.g. I have a pair of deep 6 with the 5,5 codes. Others has seen this as well, they used the forging molds at the factory for different widths. At least some of 4,5 wheels did not have markings at all. My 7R wheels have the last two digits ground of. Best way to identify is to look inside of the wheel - the forms in the center and spokes in genuine wheels van be easily identified.

Several characteristics of those wheels suggest they're replicas ...

Thanks arprea, both 6" have part & date numbers. Nothing in the centers of the 7's where the date stamp should be.

Wot makes you think that Andy !
They are good quality & have some age & weight to them .. wouldn't repros have some id marks on them. The repros I've seen look pretty obvious .. even with my limited knowledge !

Archie - just a few indicators:




- the 'apex' of the triangular holes (red arrow) is too 'pointed'

- the depth of the 'upstand' (pale blue arrow) is too great

- the appearance/profile of the outer rim (blue rectangle) is too rough/thick

Definitely repros

I suspect they're Eagles – among the first repros and always used to show up at US swapemeets. Heavy - and don't hit a kerb sideways with one.
