GT shell for USD 4k - Austin, Texas

Post by MikeH »

On business in California, so thought I'd nose through the classifieds on a sunday morning.

This caught my eye - a few interesting bits on it but just about the worst respray I've ever seen.

Was it really too much work to take off the door cards, or put a bit of masking tape over the chassis plate. Geez Louise!

Looks like it 'could' be a nice project...I notice there's no pics of the hell hole or suspension consoles! I might go for that if I didn't live this side of the pond...doh!

Non-existent door gaps not a good sign. Why waste time masking? I'm sure the overspray on the drivers seat will come off FFS!!!
My car has some classic US masking corners cut but is virtually on courts compared to that

Yes, the pax side door gap doesn't look clever at all does it. Might need putting on a flat chassis table to check straightness and strap it back down level.

'on courts' = concours I assume, with the help of a mobile device spell checker :D

Like I say, 'could' be a nice project..it's £2.5K (minus shipping /duties etc ofcourse)!! But IF (and I appreciate it's a big IF), it's a 5-lug conversion done right, the flares are steel, the wheels are real, it has the original interior, steering wheel etc..it's worth that alone in parts. If the chassis's bent, buy a straight tub and transfer everything over..

Clear, it's not right the way it is...

This looks like quite a good basis for a project... tidy shell but needs the engine upgrading...

Yeah...seen that one. It looks the part, but obviously wouldn't 'drive' the part!
