The Prize(?) goes to Andy Lightweight.

It is the 5th RML GT40 made after a very small number of cars produced and the last one I think.
Real race car engineering under the skin, not a 'kit car' for sure.
Body taken off a real 'narrow rear wheeled' GT40 (and so much the better for it imho)

Huge capacity running Jenvey ITB and motec with a real ZF gearbox not a Renault 25 unit.

I want it, but lumbered with a 73T Hotrod and a mongrel Lola.. :(

One day i will find a car that will stop you all!

My neighbour knows the builder / owner (Chris) very well - lives over Northampton way. I met him at Prescott on Saturday and he enthused over the 11 year build project - made my one year with the Alfa seem short :-) My neighbour was then offered a passenger ride up Prescott in it on the Sunday, so of course he accepted - lucky chap. Best sounding car up the hill even at pace car speeds ????

I enjoyed a long chat with the owner on sunday when I was at Prescott watching for once.

He has had a hard time getting the car straight and to his satisfaction, but a great car and with open pipes, very very nice.
Having just got back from SPA with 7 or more real ones screaming round for 6 hours it just impresses as a design despite now being so old a car.

They were a schoolboy dream for me, pictures all over my Tech Drg folder for years, and one of the cars responsible for my love with the car in general and GT40's in particular.
Just FAB. :)
