'72 S bitsa

Post by carreracat »

Found this whilst trawling some RHD market sites.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-ca ... 872061.htm

Appears to have arrived in NZ via Singapore. Not sure if it's a Singapore car originally or perhaps a UK car.

Clearly not much left from 72.

Where do I need to look to find and verify this build number I keep hearing tell of?
Cheers

You will not be able to verify the number without a good contact withing the factory archive department. Just look for any evidence that the number has been changed or messed with, use a mirror to read the back of the number. Do the same with the VIN stamp.

i suspect the car is a 964 body on 72S papers.

if so is it worth anything at all?

The 964 has a higher centre tunnel to accommodate the 4WD hardware, as well many other changes such as different windscreen washer jets which that car doesn't have. It looks more like an SC shell to me.
