Locking wheel nuts
Anyone got any do's/don'ts and recommendations for locking wheel nuts? I need to get a set suitable for steelies, and another for Fuch's.
Anything better than Porsche Classic set 993.361.057.00? Seems they're about £40 a set
Thanks
Mick

Re: Locking wheel nuts
Hi Mick
Porsche' own will be good for the fuch's. They aren't dear but are a cap nut so I guess won't do for steel's. Can't offer any advice for those.

Sorry Mick I obviously didn't read your whole post before jumping to answer. Can I ask why you want better than the Porsche ones? I have a set of those and if its that they're not concidered too secure I might be wanting to upgrade too.

Re: Locking wheel nuts
Sorry not to be clear, but I'm not saying I need more than the Porsche ones, just wanted to know if anyone had found any better options, especially as I believe the Porsche ones are really just for the alloys as I understand.
I've found it is always good to ask on here before making any purchase decision you're not fully sure of!

Re: Locking wheel nuts
I got some on ebay for my F10 BMW after the BMW master socket broke, I think they cost £8.99 new for a set of 4.
I can dig out the ebay link if you would like ?

Re: Locking wheel nuts

The only time when locking wheelnuts work is when you have a flat and can't find the key!

Locking wheel nuts
Nothing worse than if one goes pop. I spent half a day removing one that shattered (the outer collar is cast I think). They offer pretty limited protection..... except when they break

Re: Locking wheel nuts
Also if you really want Locking wheelnuts in my opinion you need to go with an OEM set. Bit strange to have 4 lightweight nuts and one heavy steel one.
