It’s the main event of the year this weekend. I’m not talking Classic Le Mans and or Hedingham. This is the premier European (dare I say worldwide) Porsche event celebrating the finest LHD 2 seater, mid-engined Porsche that was ever produced. “An event celebrating euro spec boxsters??” I hear you say, “On DDK”. “Has our 5th favourite Events Co-ordinator (FECkor for short) gone completely mad? “Certainly not” I can retort. “I am of course talking about the Porsche 914 and the celebrated annual Porsche 914 International event”. This year’s pinnacle of organised Porschedom is based in Belgium, which is famous for its chocolate, being home to the EU (and thus responsible for poncing millions of Euros of our hard earned) and Stella Artois (which is brewed in according to Wikipedia).
Aims of this trip
To get my chauffer (the Robster) to drive a bit faster. Last year in France we were forever getting overtaken by moustachioed garlic smelling Frenchmen in their Deux Chevauxs or Twingos.
To find someone who knows more about 914’s than the Kevster (unlikely but need a challenge).
To get seriously distorted on Friday & Saturday night during the evenings’ entertainments, all the while remembering the need to remain conscious in some form as will be sharing a room with Kev AND Rob (slightly scared about this)
To learn more about the Belgians and their culture. beer
