Why are our Porsche centres not like this?

The OPC in Norwich was useless. It opened for a couple of years max and then closed a couple of years ago.
I went in there to order a window seal and a manual for my 993. I may as well have talked to my dog, he'd have done a better job.
They forgot to order the manual in and forgot to call me when the seal was in.
Not surprising it failed so quickly

It may just be me, of course but I have found OPC Cambridge to be the most unfriendly car dealership I have ever been in!
Twice now I have been asked if I had an appointment to see someone from the parts department...I thought the guy was joking the first time.
I have currently been waiting 3 weeks for a couple of prices. I think I might have to start making the two hour round trip to Hatfield .

That's because it's the domain of Jeff Moyes, another true Porsche enthusiastFerry Man wrote:I recently had my 993RS serviced at Guildford OPC.
My experience was excellent. They relished working on the car, they assigned a top technician to work on it (an older, experienced guy I guess) and everyone at the showroom seemed genuinely delighted to see a rare piece of Porsche heritage. At the time there was also a superb 993 Turbo being worked on. I do know they also look after some '73 RS's and even 356's.
Many thanks to Jason for the original post, flagging the sale of such a lovely RS

Ah yes... thanks Steve! Only the Grant Larson who designed the Boxster!left4dead wrote:That'll be me then Nigel.Mitch wrote:that's the car that was at Hedingham last year, owned and driven over by a guy who works for Porsche. Somebody with more knowledge than me will remember who....

MB in Poole have a classic parts man and he's ace. Discounts to MB club members, knows the cars well and has an online catalogue in pdf that really helps nail down the bit you're looking for. I think it's a sideline for the stealership rather than an MBUK initiative but it works very well for the customers

Had the house valued this week and was hoping there'd be enough equity to buy that beaut.
