Thought I might start a thread here as well, there´s always need for feedback!

I purchased this car in June 2009, California import NOT rust free as you will see in the pics

Bought lots of small stuff during the 2 years I drove it and then decided to get down to business.

I didn´t hace much info on the car but I have gathered some along the way from helpful board members around the world.

I am a total beginner when it comes to restorations, I have had some welding help from my dad who has done some cars in the past.

This is a learning journey and I have enjoyed every single minute of it, except for when burning my eyes and having to visit the emergency....

I have a MOT for 5th of May, so I have a quite tight schedule until then..

Hi, Am doing the same thing myself (putting new floor in) did you spotweld the floor to the outer sill? Got any pictures of the underside?
I've got Dansk panels (look the same as yours) but they don't seem to fit too well against the sill. Is it a matter of "cutting & shutting"?

Hi there Larry!

Ill post some pics of the underside + sills on monday, Yes, i spotwelded the sills! On my way to Essen for techno clasica, or to be honest, sitting in à bar getting ready for the flight!

Mine are dansk also, the fit was 99%, it all falls in place with some massage when spotwelding.

Returned from Techno Classica Sunday night so I haven´t had any time over for the car until yesterday evening.

My dad (hero) is helping me out with the more complicated welding (im a total beginner)

Repairs to the left side inner fender has begun, the rust had spread to under the fuse box in the trunk so it all had to be cut out. Since I´ve kept all the electrics in the car during the resto it needed to be secured from the cutting wheel

Also finished up welding the back seat, both corners are now structurally sound, photo before dressing the welds properly..

Some stuff I picked up at Techno Classica

Holder for my Heuer (Poor mans Monte Carlo set up)

NOS wiper blades, not SWF though

Hoping to be done with all welding this by this week and then move on to prep before inner primer and paint.

Ordered a new carpet set too, hope it all matches up good in time for my MOT

Some progress.

Left fender rust issues sorted.

Cleaned the garage and rolled up the car, first time since october, its all coming together.

Im setting up a tent and will be epoxy priming the interior and painting it black. Waiting for a carpet set to arrive in a couple of days so I hope to be done with the interior by easter.

After that, i´ll need to sort a couple of minor weldings in the rear, then rustproof and schutz the under carriage.

Würth Sweden are not allowed to import chemicals so I cannot get hold of SKS, is the 3M product "ok" to work with?

I find the 3m stone chip nicer to use than the Wurth version, although I thought SKS was the water based one, anyway the 3M product gives off less solvent vapour than the Wurth one so you end up slighly less high.. You might want to consider using the two pack 3M stone chip/sealer for the inner floor as its very hard wearing although it may take a couple of days to harden completely.

The cars interior is now epoxy primed, seam sealed and painted! Just waiting for a OEM type carpet set to be delivered, everything else is there!

Some progress.

I have changed oil, seals and oil filter. Epoxy primed and sealed the underside of the new pans, they are now ready for schutz.

I´ve test fitted the doors, they will need lots of more work to be "good" but they are "ok" for MOT. I will buy new bolts for the hinges since they have started rounding off, thats the reason for provisional fitting.

The interior is 90% done, I´ve test fitted my newly uplholstered door skins, they look great!

The only thing missing in the interior is the carpet set which delivery has been delayed, hoping to get it in a couple of days though. Kinda like the rough look though, it also let´s me see what I´ve been busting my *** of for the whole winter.

I decided to fit new hoses that come from the sills up to the dash, I shoulnd´t have

... Took me a half day to get em fitted, really tough o attach em.

Another thing that bugs me is the hood struts, my right one pushes up the hood 1cm too high

Some pics from recent work, yesterday and the day before..

I´ve been ambushed by some electrical gremlins, my left side turn signals have gone *** While parking lights are on, the turn signal bulb glows really brigth, while turn signal is on, nothing lights up.. The right side works correctly.. Grr!
