cad plating where to go

Post by veryporky »

It's getting difficult to get cad plating done these days due to new EU leg. Anybody have a contact that still does it :?: :?: :?:

Cheers

Yellow zinc passivating has taken over & gives very similar results.

Tell your plater that the parts are for the aviation industry, they have an exemption to the legislation.

Cad is a dullish silver finish - not yellow!

I use cad plating on my indian m cycles - last lot I had done was here in Portsmouth - quite cheap but minimum order charge a rough guess from memory £60 but I had a lot of nuts, bolts small parts done.

I think the place was Hants and Sussex Avaition - Airport Service Road Portsmouth.

If you can't find it let me know and I'll try and dig out an old invoice.

Cheers

How  as I work in aviation!! Trouble is it's white collar stuff now, so a bit out of touch with the hands on side of the business! Small world as when I worked hands on at Lasham near Alton we used to use Hants and Sussex. Chief inspector used to call them Hants and Suspect - small world....

That'll be the way to go then...... Still got a mate who works at Shuttleworth, will get them to send them out with the next lot of bits that go... He's got an interesting job restoring their Mk V Spitfire - ground up:
