Just renewed my insurance with Heritage.

Managed to get an agreed valuation of £17k after showing them bills for 2009 , photos and links to other cars advertised for sale.

Doesn't seem unreasonable to me to have a good 912 on agreed value for that amount these days. Ours was agreed at 21950 euros by previous owners' insurance.

£8k for a running ropey one, £11k-14k for a nice one. £15-17k for a total minter/concourse. Unreasonable?

Not really, about right i guess, by running a meant MOTed and useable etc. So by the advert, if all correct, then for between £8,750 qne £9,750 you'll have a scruffy paint but solid runner.

Pretty much what i said above.

I've actually been looking for another 912 for about a year for my brother in law. We haven't found anything good yet, keep missing those which come up they seem to sell quickly.

I looked at a couple last year which were around the £12k mark. Both were not particularly good, with evidence of corrosion despite looking nice from a distance. Neither had an engine rebuild either which would be nice.

I don't agree that you can get a nice one for 11k. I think its more like 13k for something where you would not immediately spend a couple of grand improving issues.

Jan'08: 1GBP = 1.35 EUR
Jan'10: 1GBP = 1.11 EUR
18% devaluation

Jan'08: 1GBP = 2.16 CHF
Jan'10: 1GBP = 1.65 CHF
24% devaluation

Hence it's reasonable to expect an increase in price of a UK 912, especially lhd, due to the purchasing power from Europe.

A very good point, not to mention the dollar swing, a lot of these ex cali cars brought over here were done at a very favourable cable rate, not any more.

Crickey, not even original. I very much doubt that will sell at that price though to be honest.

23k - I cant make a comment. But well done if they get the money.

The cars only worth what someone will pay.

I've had mine listed for 6.7k with a 6.5k engine rebuild and just had hot air off loads of people. Would I have a sellable car if i sank 16k into it! Nuts IMHO

there are lots of non-original things from the pics.

steering wheel, gear knob, floor mats being the three that stuck in my mind from when I last saw the pics...

would be really interested to know what it goes for in the end.
