Replacing sills.

Post by Bob_Salmon »

I fitted the first new inner sill and had 'assumed' that the outer would then spot weld to the same edges ( the upstanding edge from the floor and the narrow thin downward facing edge beneath the car - I hope that explains it but it sounds wrong!). However; when I offered up the outer sill there is no way it is going to fit there. The top edge is fine - nice easy spot weld job but the lower edge looks as though it needs to be plug or seam welded on top of the inner sill, about three inches up from the bottom.

Can one of you experts confirm that please?

Cheers,

Bob

Bob

You are correct, the bottom edge is attached about 50 mm above the floor/sill seam

Have a look at my site

Thanks Nick - When you are working on your own it is easy to chose the wrong option, or worry about the right one!

And yes, I should have looked on your site first.............

Cheers,

Bob
