full flow filter kit

I’ve just installed a precision matter full flow oil pump adapter. The remote kind.
Has anyone done this and noticed a loud wering/whining noise under load?
It’s the only thing that I can think of that could be making the noise. It doesn’t sound like it coming from the fan or dynamo.

that high whining noise is a result of the load put on the poor old oil pump gears and drive , its hard work shoving oil through ninety degrees straight out the front of the pump , does it shut up once the oil is hot and a bit thinner? The drive dog on the oil pump is worked hard at the best of times and I personally think anything that creates extra resistance and load on it is a bad idea, full flow filters and coolers etc can be done but maybe not that way.

It does give you an audible reminder to keep the revs at a reasonable level until the oil warms up

I just did this, and my oil at last now stays clean and golden for more than 100 miles , main problem is that I worry even more now that the car runs too cool..

I had heard about this noise from the spiel about the kit on 356reg. It describes it as being the normal noise of the oil pump gears being transmitted through the plumbing and filter, rather than simply the pump whining in agony, as Bill suggests! I did a lot of asking around before I converted mine, and there were no reports of failed pumps (I thought they were meant to be overengineered in late cars anyway?)

I cut up an old mouse mat and fitted it as a sound insulation pad between my filter mount and my inner wing, and I have to say the noise is barely noticeable, and not unpleasant at all at start up, and disappears completely when up and running.
