73RS Lightweight Door Panels - Pictures please

Post by Highfield »

Can anyone post a detailed set of pictures of the RS Lightweight Door Panels.

I want to note in particular the positions of the fixings etc. for when I refit mine over the winter. I have purchased a set from Southbound including the pull and Fiat 500 handle etc.

I also need to get a set of the membranes that go on the door first - £££ from Porsche so does anyone know of an alterntive supplier or material that can be used ?

my old car's interior with said door panel. The backing board from Southbound will have the cut outs already marked depending on model and Dave should also have the plastic waterproofing material. Failing that any thin sticky backed plastic membrane should do.

Unfortunately Dave said that they had not been able to get hold of the backing mambrane material lately, but the Porsche items are about £25 each he said :-(

Do you have any more detailed shots of the dash, doors, rear three quarters from your old car - e-mail to me if you have good high res - please.

I want to get them 'right'.

Ian,

I used black polythene from B&Q with spray trim adhesive :)

I'm never one to follow the correct route

Check that price from Porsche. I have the genuine membranes on my cars and they are great - and re-usable.

Door panel kit already ordered from Southbound.

Membranes ordered from Appbiz (super helpful chap there - Bob) as Tripe didn't ahve any and Porsche are £25 each.

Appbiz are $7 plus $12 shipping equates to £11 for a set.
