If that had been "AJH" I would have had it! Of course don't forget the car will need and MOT to take the plate off anywayPhil Parry wrote:I have a friend who's just acquired a morris minor in the barn with his new house. The reg is AHJ 356A. Obviously As weren't '63 cars but it may interest someone out there. Anyone have any idea what it could be worth?

Hi Fellas,
I could be wrong but would the DVLA allow you to put a 'A' plate on an earlier 356a anyway?
I know you can't put a later plate on a car to prevent misrepresentation on newer cars and it seems stupid that it would apply to classics of this age, but I bet it does
Cheers,
Kevin

Out of interest I've looked up the rules on the Direct Gov website. It seems you're right. An A plate would make a 356A "look younger" so it can't be transferred backwards. Therefore, only a 356C owner could buy AHJ 356A from my chum's car. Not quite so cool!

HANG ON. I've just remembered - that plate is currently on a 1959 morris minor. I'm really confused now. Have told him to ring the DVLA and ask!!
