Loton Park Hillclimb 13th April 2009
Just been to Loton Park today to see Jonathan and Graham race their way up the hill. Great weather and great show. Loton is a great venue to spectate at for any of you that might think about coming along to watch the guys in action later this year.
Excuse the quality of my pics but you get the message. Jonathan and Graham were in a class with 2 off 800bhp Audi Sport Quattros sucking in more air than a black hole. Hardly comparable machinery but both entertaining in their own right.
Thankyou guys for the advice on getting my car out in a hillclimb event later this year. Neil Procter (senior scrutineer) was also very helpful. He confirmed that if I wanted to get an MSA log book to cover rallying as well I would need to fit FIA in date seats, plastic or filmed side glass and a passenger horn push. The in date seats and side glass requirements only came in on 1st Jan 2009 for any 'new build' cars, but existing cars can still compete without them. Make sense of that !! If only I'd got the log book sorted last year ! It seems every time I think I've got to the finish line the MSA decide to move the goal posts. Good news from Neil Procter was that I should be able to do any hillclimbs or sprints without a log book at all because the car is road registered. At least that saves me £30 while I think about buying more new seats, glass film and a new passenger harness that's in date. Maybe next year.
Good luck Jonathan in your next event in a fortnights time.

Was thinking of getting "Carrera" sidestripes with a smelling pisstake to say "Cornwall"
Hopefully the green Oak Tree is the only one to become planted on the bonnet this year!
Cheers!

As for 'Cornwall' in 'Carrera' lettering – I like your style!

Know anyone who can do the Carrera font, or one similar? I've been told it's not available outside Porsche..............KS wrote:As for 'Cornwall' in 'Carrera' lettering – I like your style!

The problem is I don't think it's actually a font but more a piece of artwork.
Many people have replicated it over the years so there must be something unofficial about somehwhere?

Thanks AA. I didn't think it would be that complicated, use the Carrera C and find a script font close enough for the rest of the lower case letters.
Then we'll get round to the Cornish tartan seat inserts!
Cheers!

Maybe a trip to Truro to see about sponsorship from Betty Stoggs?
