Picked up all the extra bits that came with this car on Saturday. Most of it I will get rid of to get the car back on the road.

It included two more posters.





The tool kit and loads of paperwork.

Picked the car up on Monday and even drove it tiny bit, felt really good. Even with no brakes and a clutch permanently engaged! I heard from a friend that a few people knew about this car, but nobody knew where it was.







In order to have the necessary sympathetic work done to the car, I am going to have to sell my '62 B (I can't keep all the 356s to myself).

Anyone who followed the "What Have I Done" thread in the restoration section will know just how much work has gone into the body of this car (and that's only this time), the costs involved in this restoration are way higher than the value the car will ever get to.

Anyone who's interested or has any questions, send me a PM. I have loads of photos of work done to the car over the 8 years I have owned it as well as loads of bills and receipts.

BTW the B is a UK RHD car with original Super 75 engine and gearbox. I have done the UK, French, Belgian, Italian and Danish 356 Internationals and toured Germany in this car without breaking down, so I would say it's pretty reliable!

Hi, I used to own, about 12 years ago, a Ruby red RHD '59 "A" reg number 28VHX, obviously a sister car to this one. I think it went to a guy in Henley or north reading area.......haven't seen or heard of it since.

Have just had a look on the DVLA database and your car is still registered but is on a sorn at the moment. They did come over in batches so must have been one of the same lot, probably pre ordered like mine.

A quick up date on the A.
The car has now gone down to Pauls at PR Services to be put back on the road. This will include sorting out the brakes, clutch, hand throttle (just a new cable) and drivers window as well as the usual service, MOT, new wheels and tyres (so I can keep the originals for show purposes, NEC maybe Helen?) and a thorough waxoyling.

Whilst talking to Paul I asked him about a new hand brake mechanism for my B as it almost always releases when I shut the door. I've put up with this for only 8 years and it has started to p155 me off now. He could have told me I needed a whole new mechanism, but no all I needed to do was twist the cable and job done. Well I've done it and what can I say, Paul's a genius, he's probably forgotten more than I'll ever know.
