One thing after another... brakes binding now!

No sooner do I get my front suspension pan sorted out, than my brakes start binding!! Not sure if it is all the calipers binding... i suspect not.

I'm a bit of a technical dunce, but presumably the calipers want removing and cleaning? Any advice or tips on doing this?

Check the flexible hoses for condition too, they can collapse and swell internally which means the calipers can't release.

Of course a caliper strip and clean is a cheap if messy job. They usually jam up and refuse to move though. I had to apply 140PSi to one of mine to release one piston!

My E sat for two years and I replaced all the flexibles, MC and rebuilt the calipers. After you have done all of this don't forget to position the pads correctly or you will never get a firm brake pedal.

A sticking brake pedal was the culprit! Took the car to Unit 11 in Warrington. John H took out the pedal box stripped, cleaned and regreased it. The clutch and brake pedals were semi-siezed with crud and surface rust. Working nice and smooth now! And brakes no longer binding!
