Loving that arch!

I've said it so many times (in different ways) but your attention to detail, the craftsmanship you've commissioned and your pursuit of getting things just how they should (and you want them to) be is mind blowing and one of inspiring passion.

I look forward to every update on this thread.

Looking great. 8)

So glad you decided to do this properly, it would have been sacrilege to leave with the wings it had.

I wish you could leave it unpainted and just bare metal.....its awesome!

Thanks for the kind words Tom, and to all for the support.

The other area of the arch that Jamie has spent a lot of time on is the curve of the corner around the torsion bar access hole.
On the 930 turbo wing it's very flat along the bottom and square on the corner, the RSR should be far more rounded and on
the prototype it seems not to flare out quite as much as the 73 car.
cheers, Mike.

Have you got any photos of this part of the arch on the prototype so we can see Mike?

Hi Mark, this is a good shot of the prototype car to show the curve at the bottom of the rear arch around the torsion bar hole.
You also see how the top of the arch flattens out as it joins the wing.

I've also got a NOS piece of gaffer tape to go on the the leading edge of the nearside front arch.......

Thanks for posting the picture - it really shows what a cracking job the bodywork guy has done

Ah, but have you got the correct newspaper cutting for the front oil cooler vent?

Superb work as usual Mike. Awesome in fact on the arches.

Mike

The ex-Tour de Corse car - see the next Archives piece in Classic Porsche #5, and the subject of much discussion on the early911S Registry forum. Test car used to develop the Mary Stuart rear wing at Paul Ricard in December 1973…
