That looks nice. Sept 65 build and Oct 65 delivery. Does that make it a MY 65 or MY 66 car?

It is a 66 despite what the ad says.

Hi Feroz,

If you are bored there's a thread on early S which tells you everything you could possibly want to know about the differences between the eminently superior and almost priceless pre-summer-break MY65 car and the nearly worthless MY66 ;-)

A really easy one to spot is the knee bar under the dash. MY65 had a straight bar all the way to the end. MY66 moved to the knee bar with sort-of-T-shaped end bits (I think Americans call them hockey sticks), which persisted in much the same form until '73.

MY66 (at Sports Purpose)

MY65 ( elsewhere ;-) )

MY65 also has the little brass ignition bezel, but that's very easily swapped of course:

Don’t think the ad says anything other than it was built and registered in 1965.

Thanks Richard, I will find the thread on early S. How are you finding your car? Don’t suppose you have had much chance to use it this year!

I must come and see you and your projects once the lockdown is over!
