Fuel pump

Hi guys, just finishing up my 6 conversion and there is one thing that's bugging me !!
I am now running carbs, so I installed in the front a low pressure Holley fuel pump plus a regulator at the carb end.
IT IS SOOO LOUD !!!!
I think I need to fit straight through pipes and a large stereo !!!
Any one else with Holley experience? Or is it just me ??

I've checked the plumbing and the mounts to see if it's sitting on metal or the rubber fixings. All seems fine. I had heard they were a bit on the loud side .... But come on !!

I changed mine recently to a Carter 4-6 psi pump on my 4 pot. Its much louder than my previous pump which was some cheap bug pack jobbie.

'Luckily' my car is very loud anyway so once I'm under way I can't hear it

Porsche used Hardi pumps that are still available and don't need a regulator.

Hmm spoke to them today. They can only supply a pump up till 1969 with webers ! ?? Is there really a big difference with webers and zenith and fuel supply and pressure ?

Webers are very pressure sensitive and need low output of around 2 psi. The later T used a higher flow pump with a Porsche part number (still a Hardi I thought).
Are you running a 2.0 or 2.2/2.4?

2.2 but they did not want to commit to anything really ?? Even when I said I am using a regulator??

Ah, Hardi is good for circa 100l/h so maybe out of puff with a 2.2
Looks like the later pump wasn't a Hardi then.

But if I'm running a pressure regulator anyway , how critical is it to have a higher pressurised pump so long as it delivers enough GPH ??
