So, having recently sold my Alfa Spider & another one of my cars, my attention turned to a suitable replacement.

My last Porsche (GT-style 356C) had gone in 2017 (can't believe it was 4 ½ years ago) & in the meantime I had been keeping an eye on a number of different models (& monitoring prices).

Under consideration (but in no particular order) were:

356 ? – nice A's are still too expensive (a rare exception being the car Richard snapped up a few months ago) & I didn't really want a standard B/C (had already owned a modified GT-style 356C) ...

A's are too expensive. Don't want a standard B/C. You've already had a modified C.

So that leaves a modified B or the elusive "D"?

I bought that ex-race car for it's fresh 2.5 litre twin-plug engine.

Sold off everything else & effectively got the engine FOC !!

That's the engine that ended up in my 904 (after I'd ditched the Clewett ignition system & replaced it with one of Henry Schmidt's early twin-plug distributors) ...

You forgot the Karmann hardtop (Notchback) Feroz !

Unfortunately anything of interest 356-wise was too expensive.

912 ? - I had previously owned a superbly original '69 912 in Tangerine (bought from Russell Edmonds) which probably couldn't be bettered … & I couldn't get my head around today's asking prices ...
