It’s always great. Proper enthusiasts doing fun stuff with cars, mainly in their own garages. Varying degrees of quality and success of course.

I guess the Retro guys jumped in at short notice when the updated lock down measures were announced? Probably got a good deal on the venue too.

I guess, as a large proportion of competitors come from abroad, they couldn't risk trying to run an expensive event like the Members' Meeting and have nobody able to turn up and race due to continuing travel restrictions. The MM can't really be postponed at the last minute without incurring massive costs. This other event relies largely on local (or at least, southern UK) support, with the financial risk presumably resting on the organisers rather than Goodwood itself.

Apparently it’s because the virus lives longer on tweed and corduroy than on denim and track suits.

From the organisers
"We'd love some help tracking down a Sbarro car, or a Gemballa 80's Porsche, or a Styling Garage Mercedes. You get the idea. Email if you have any leads"

Which day are people planning on going, if only doing one day? I couldn't make a whole weekend...

Darn it! The only classic car thing happening in May is at the same time as the only Junior Rallycross thing in May.
