Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there
Long-term Sam enthusiasts may remember that before I became aware of the spiritual futility of exchanging my labour for money I had a job at Paul Stephens for 18 months or so in 2010ish. During that time we had these watches made. They were made by Elysee in Germany with a 25 jewel automatic ETA 28x...

Re: What’s this hole for?
I’m no expert, but shouldn’t that VIN have stars or asterisks either end? I know they changed the style in 1971 but I thought they all had either stars or asterisks still…

Re: WTB: 996 GT3 recaros
I’ve always thought the optimum for a GT3 is driver bucket and passenger sport seat.
Racey feelz and bum clamping for the driver but retains access to the luggage space. Plus echoes of early race cars that had that sort of set up.

Re: New Member from London
It drove really well, but was backdated and painted on the sort of teeny budget that made sense on a £15k car - I bet it looked a lot sharper after that Jaz resto.

Re: New Member from London
I had FCZ9211 as a kinda ST thing with red decals and minilites maybe 15 years ago. I did many sweet skids in that car for a year or two. That was in the days when £15k got you a useable hot rod that you didn’t have to be precious about. Happy times.

Don’t go to Nuremberg.
It’s quite a long way from the Nurburgring.

Re: Non-Porsche for sale of the day
Really keen on this at the moment ! https://www.nickcartwright.com/car_sales/308-gtb-2/ Just working out what I'd need to sell to get it ....... Yes! There can never be enough black Ferraris at DDK meets. Amazing what some gold wheels and nicely judged amounts of alcantara can do for the vibe of a ...

Re: Another good podcast listen
I went in with no preconceptions, tbh. Found myself tuning out a bit but still managed to get to the end. Still haven't managed to finish an Intercooler or Collecting Cars one yet. The new Inter Cooler has Jonny Smith on, so is just about listenable. At one point Frankel literally seriously honestl...

I struggle to listen to Sam Moore since someone on here likened him to this bloody nice bloke:

Re: The DDK Nationals
Well… If you want somewhere on the way to Hedingham for everyone except Boosty I’d suggest Hot Numbers Roastery, about an hour inland and 10 mins off J11 of the M11. https://maps.app.goo.gl/pAmkto4XgF1SpTRd6?g_st=ic https://hotnumberscoffee.co.uk/the-roastery/ The owner has that yellow 71 R gruppe h...

Re: The DDK Nationals
By far the majority appear to be in the east.
So East Midlands sounds preferable to west.
If only someone on here from the East Midlands had a suitably large, beautifully renovated barn in their garden.
