I'm pretty sure I read in one of the mags that Polopolus has supplied him with the crankcase kitsBruce M wrote:Needs to keep up with Emory and his turbo version of the 4 cylinder mezger.
Wonder if RUF made their own crankcase / crank / cams / etc or whether they bought the Polo parts?

Re: Polopolus Engine in a 912
From Dean Polopolus on the Turbo if you think it was made up The latest project I am doing is a Polo to rival the power output of the ubiquitously popular crate V8, but in a package that weighs easily 1/4 of the amount and fits in the confines of a 356 Speedster. “I just finished a car, it was a ’58...

Here we are.
No doubt there will a few body/engine mount mods required,

Re: Polopolus Engine in a 912
Would it not work out a lot less mental expensive to put a 911 engine in a 912 ? Hi yes it would probably be cheaper but the advantage is that you retain the lower weight and the engine still sits 6 inches further forward so you maintain the 912’s better balance with the power of a tuned 2.7 six cy...

Polopolus Engine in a 912
Hi I wondered if anyone in the UK has fitted a Polopolus engine in to their 912. I spoke to Dean Polopolus and he said he had supplied an engine to a 912 owner over here and wondered if they were a member of DDK and had any feedback. I know they are mentally expensive but I am thinking of going over...

Re: Oil advice and recommendations here
Hi I have a 1967 912 and not sure which Oil to use. I use Valvoline VR1 20/50 Mineral Oil on my Elan and Cooper S but not sure whether that is correct for the 912. I had previously tried Valvoline Synthetic on the Elan and it leaked like a sieve so have steered away from Synthetics on older engines ...
